About

The Chamber

The Brazil Israel Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit, public benefit entity that has been operating for 60+ years, promoting economic and commercial relations between Brazil and Israel.

Our membership base represents diverse business sectors and our vision is focused on fostering bilateral exchange. To that end, we bridge the gap between institutions and companies interested in knowing and getting closer to Israel and Brazil.

By promoting trade missions and enabling participation in fairs and exhibitions, the Chamber aims to overcome the geographical and cultural distance of the countries. We constantly carry out events and activities that allow our members to expand their connections and have access to privileged information, fostering an active business environment, creating opportunities for business and partnerships.

History

Israel’s then Minister of Finance, Pinchas Sapir, Senator Apolônio Salles and the Governor of the State of São Paulo, Lucas Nogueira Garcez, attended the ceremony for the creation of the Brazil-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on April 15, 1959. The initiative was lead by Max Perlman and honorary consul Leon Feffer, representing a group of 60 dedicated entrepreneurs.

The successive boards have worked to encourage commercial, industrial, technological, academic, cultural and tourism contacts between Brazil and Israel, contributing to the development of the mutual interests of the countries.

“EACH OF THE FOUNDERS AND FUTURE ASSOCIATES HAVE THE INDIVIDUAL DUTY TO ENSURE THAT THE NEW ENTITY’S PROGRESS IS ALWAYS GREATER”

– Antônio Sylvio Cunha Bueno, 09/15/1959

Executive Board

Renato Ochman

President

For 60 years, the Brazil-Israel Chamber of Commerce has been building business and cultural relations between Brazil and Israel, seeking to create new opportunities and make available new technologies between the countries. Other focus areas that add depth to this approach include culture and tourism.

I assume this presidency with the platform of renewing the entity and creating an innovative program to encourage bilateral businesses between the two countries, especially in the areas of technology, health and entrepreneurship.

The moment is challenging, but I believe that the crisis can also be an excellent moment for multiple opportunities.

I count on the support of the directors, board members and associates, believing in the transformative power and resilience of our “Dream Team,” so that together we can join forces and accelerate the commercial ties between Brazil and Israel.
